Medical Reserve Corps volunteer training has been scheduled for Tuesday, September 28 at the Fairfield Police Department. 

In trying to accommodate busy schedules, there will be two opportunities to attend.  We will have training from 10:00 a.m. - Noon, and we will have the same training from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.  A light meal will be served at each session.  Please call and let Tammy know if you plan to attend.

Training will cover topics such as preparing an emergency kit for your family, HIPAA requirements, a Medical Reserve Corps and Point of Dispensing overview, and lessons learned from our H1N1 vaccination campaign.  We will also discuss further training opportunities such as CPR, Mass Prophylaxis Preparedness and Planning, and Psychological First Aid.

A drawing will be held at each training session and emergency preparedness kits will be given away.

We will also discuss the requirement of the Wayne County Health Department to conduct a full-scale mass dispensing exercise in the spring of 2011.  MRC volunteers will be encouraged to assist in this exercise. 

Please understand the importance of training in advance of a public health emergency.   Thank you for your willingness to serve Wayne County in this way.

All volunteers are encouraged to complete the following MRC & POD Orientations.  These are short Power Point presentations that will give you an overview of our Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) and Point of Dispensing (POD).  Select each of the following and press the right arrow to advance to the next slide.
